Designed for a single 8-inch round subwoofer, this floor-firing enclosure features drivers mounted in the bottom panel so the support surface shapes the bass dispersion and contributes to the acoustic loading. This general-purpose home subwoofer enclosure for music and stereo systems balances bass extension, cabinet size, output, and low distortion within a 15 L chamber tuned to 38 Hz. The simple rectangle cabinet is built from 16 mm (5/8 inch) material with external dimensions of 296 × 288 × 306 mm (11.64 × 11.37 × 12.09 in). A double-thickness front baffle increases rigidity and reduces flex, making this sealed (closed-box) design suitable for high-output subwoofer systems.
