I designed this box for this JL for the same purposes / needs on sounding and working like this box for the Gladen RS-X 6.5: https://speakerboxlite.com/project-info/17627/tab-info with 18 mm material thickness, and max outer dimension less than 450 mm.

Used stock speaker parameters + stock input power from the local database. The box is "extended bass ported box" (maximises the low-freq. resp.) which is basically Vb and Fb combination what let's just touching but not overpassing X-max higher than tuning freq (Cone displacement and Maximum power graphs), and have the lowest possible F3 freq. By simple computation model the box just touches 17 m/s max port air velocity, by complex it overpasses this border, but not a lot - it should be OK.
