Description
Despite Alpine's recommendations for a sealed enclosure, the old E-Series SWE-1242 does just fine in a large ported enclosure. Deep, rich, and hard hitting bass; handling 300W RMS with ease. Lacks a bit in the upper range, but the lows more than make up for it. I should've built this box years ago. (Ignore the holes in the baffle in the pic... the box is convertible to a 6th-order Band Pass. Those holes get plugged in the single ported configuration.)

Description
Wow! Thumping with my old Alpine E-Series SWE-1242 in this new beauty (still needs sanding and carpeting). After all these years, I've fallen in love with this sub all over again. This 6th-order is noticeably much louder across the entire band than it's single ported sibling and well worth the extra effort to build, if you've got the room. Brings some much needed help in the upper range of the sub compared to a regular low-tuned, single port enclosure.
