Advantages
Very good sub for the money. I can only speak for the type of enclosure I made for it. I went with the manufacturers recommended 2.0 cu ft (net) tuned to 35 hz. This is the recommended box for optimum sound quality and they are not lying. Do not go too small on the port area and you will be blown away by this incredibly cheap sub.
Disadvantages
Low x max, doesn’t hit incredibly low as I was used to hearing from far more expensive subs. (In the 20’s). But 30 and up sounds great in the optimum enclosure. I had no issues running a JL 500/1 on it for almost a year. Then i sold the sub and box for $50. Same price as the sub and materials I spent to make the box :)
Total
Like i said, I have not experimented with other enclosure types and wouldn’t either.
