Advantages

I like this driver. I bought it because it is lightweight and transportable but still has good parameters. Cheaper drivers of the 18 inch class have less balanced parameters with smaller magnets and too high Qts and reduced Xmax. What is special: The Mivoc WS-1865 speaker cone has two curves in the diaphragm formed like an "S" which gives more stability to the paper cone. Usually you have in loudspeaker diaphragms only one curve usually known as "Nawi"-diaphragm.

Total

I have put two Mivoc WS 1865-C4 in 150 liter volume, bass reflex tuned to 25 Hertz. The frequency response was linearized with digital EQ to a totally flat frequency response from 20-80 Hertz measured at close distance 10cm. One driver I turned with the magnet outside and the driver is also turned in phase. This is known from the Linkwitz Lab as a means of reducing K2 distortion. The drivers are in an impulse compensation arrangement facing each other on opposite sides of the box enclosure what reduces the impact of vibration onto the enclosure. I covered the drivers with aluminium foil which adds 30gramms to the moving mass (Mms parameter) and adds stiffness (paper - aluminium compound).
