Advantages

1. Linear response 2. Deep bass extension 3. Higher bass is much better than the pair of Skar VVX 10’s in replaced

Disadvantages

1. Needs twice the power my previous subwoofers needed (Skar VVX) 2. Even though my previous subs and the Strato is tuned to 32hz, the VVX was noticeably stronger from the mid 20hz frequencies(though this is a product of both subwoofers and how they’re built. The Strato was much easier to model a linear response on WINISD, and the VVX just has a huge peak at the tuning frequency and a big roll-off above 45hz. So the VVX always looks like a steep hill however I adjusted the box and tuning)

Total

Very happy. It’s loud enough to sound great, though I feel I need a stronger amp for my 6.5 components and 6x9’s to balance better. For a single subwoofer that can handle 1200 watts continuously, this is a very good value. Anyone who expects more should look to an SPL subwoofer that handles much more watts and maybe run more than a single subwoofer. I think of this as an SQL sub that can get as loud as I need, plays deep, and plays smoothly not just low but also higher. It could fall into the SQ category but it handle twice the power a typical SQ sub does
