Description

I optimised this ported box for this driver to max out it's output potential from 20 Hz and up on it's RMS power = ideal power handling from 20 Hz and up with reaching but not overpassing X-max at 19-20 Hz and higher than Fb, + also 17 m/s or less max vent air velocity. Vb and Fb I determined with SBL's simple model, because by BB6 is higher Vb and lower Vb, but the port area I determined with BB6. All graphs in BB6 are somewhere between SBL's both computation model's graphs.

Description

This closed box's Vb is the largest on which the driver reaches but not passes over its X-max at every frequency down to 10 Hz on RMS power using both computation models. This driver in this box will perform really good in car, because at low bass its transfer function is much higher than 0 dB with the SBL's stock 55 Hz / 12 dB cabin gain. Simple model shows that it is the loudest between 10 and 19 Hz, but complex model shows that this is between 23 and 33 Hz.

Closed, Vb: 28.3l

Basically, I did the same like at the 12 and at the 15-inch P1S4: https://speakerboxlite.com/project-info/19770/tab-info. Differences: Fb and F3 higher than 20 Hz - like at the 12-inch P1, RMS power handling ability is under 20 Hz just with complex computation model, transfer function is in "+" just only up from 42 - 45 Hz. It is maybe not usable in exterior like the 12 and 15-inch P1S4s, but in huge closed interiors definitely yes.

Description

The Vb of this box I determined using WinISD using my power handling rule: to have ideal RMS power handling ability at least down to 20 Hz / reaching but not overpassing Xmax. SBL and BassBox6PRO gived way too big Vb. As sou can see, almost up to 145 Hz it is in "+" on Transfer function graph all way down to 10 Hz using the standard 55 Hz / 12 dB cabin gain, so it will sound good in a car.

The Vb and Fb of this box I determined using WinISD using my power handling rule: to have ideal RMS power handling ability at least down to 20 Hz / reaching but not overpassing Xmax. SBL and BassBox6PRO gived way too big Vb and / or Fb few tenths Hz higher than 20 Hz. There is also a simulation comparison between WinIsd closed box and this WinISD vented box. Also this vented box seems to be it have small group delay, but moderate vent air velocity -> round the port's edges.

Description

This is a simple L-ported windy box for this woofer. How will perform in a car like mine (57Hz/12dB cabin gain including the trunk) you can see on the Transfer function and SPL graphs. I optimised it to have ideal RMS power handling down to 20Hz (or high 10ish Hzs), reach but not overpass Xmax at higher Hzs than the Fb, and low vent air velocity. The space inside the box between the port part #10002 and the left side part is the same like the port height (36 mm).

Description

This is a comparison-like project for all sizes of Rockford Fosgate P1S4 woofers. Rules and needs: down to 20 Hz on RMS power: ideal power handling, and acceptable group delay - counted out to be equal or less for every Hz by the formula (1/Hzx1000)/2, then 10 or less m/s vent air velocity. For 15 inch: Vb=184.26L, Fb=23.6Hz, vent area: 80x491mm2 L-port, for 12 inch: Vb=84.96L, Fb=23.3Hz, vent area: 80x319mm2 labyrinth, for 10 inch: Vb=36.29L, Fb=23,4Hz, vent area: 40x368mm2 labyrinth.
